ARCHIVING ON A REAL ATARI MACHINE (ST, STE, MEGA ST/STE, TT, FALCON).

FASTCOPY PRO 1.0 OR 1.1

This is one of the best ways to create atari images. FastCopy allows to read a floppy and then create .DIM file.

DIM files are recognized by Steem emulator. You can easily convert them into .ST or .MSA files with MSA Converter on the PC.

  1. Here is how to use FastCopy Pro: run FastCopy Pro on the Atari
  2. select 'Read Disk Config.' and 'Get Sectors all'
  3. Please consider the fact that some disks may be NOT correctly read by default!
  4. select 'Image Copy'
  5. choose 'Read' option
  6. insert a blank disk and enter a name for the image you want to create
  7. insert the floppy you want to archive. Let the program read all tracks and insert the blank disk when prompted
  8. you finished! Just insert the floppy with the image-disk on it into the PC drive. Copy the .DIM file and run it with Steem.
